The reason I have called my new hypnotic weight loss programme:
“Head-Start to a Healthier Lifestyle” is that initially all the thoughts about food do come from our HEAD don’t they!
Whenever you talk to anyone about weight, dieting, healthy eating etc etc they always say
“I really need to do something about my eating/weight/lifestyle but I need to get in the right HEAD space/zone/frame of mind.”
So, in my new programme, we work on getting YOU in the correct head space so that it becomes second nature to eat healthily. Now, I’ve been one of these people that has been on a diet nearly all my life. I wasn’t born big!
In fact, I only weighed 5lbs – a tiny little thing! When I was five years old, I caught inhalation pneumonia from the gas when I had some teeth extracted. The doctor brought some oxygen to the house as I was too sick to be moved. As I was recovering, apparently the doctor told my mum that “if she hadn’t had that good bit of meat on her – I don’t think she would have made it!”
Now when you are five years old and you hear your mum repeating this to all the neighbours, friends and family who were coming in to see me – it kinda sticks.
Did my subconscious mind keep that phrase ( Good job she had a bit of meat on her) all these years so that if I had ever got anywhere near to looking in the slightest bit “slim” – I would sabotage the diet or healthy eating and eat until “ I had a bit more meat on me”… who knows?
But, what I do know is, as a hypnotherapist and working with overweight people for many years, that this is a common thread. We are told by so many different people that we eat too much, are too chubby, we don’t eat healthily etc and all these suggestions sit there in our subconscious mind – then when we go to change our eating habits they pop up –
“Hey, should you really be eating veggies and salad, shouldn’t you be keeping a covering of fat over your body to keep you healthy?”
Does hypnotherapy work for weight loss?
This is why hypnosis is so good for losing weight – it gets rid of all the negative things in our memory bank about eating and food and we can replace them with loads of new, correct suggestions about being motivated to exercise and to stick to our healthy eating regime. Head Start starts in the head!
So how does my 28-day Head Start Weight Loss Programme work?
It is based on giving our brains a head start. It is also based on starting new “habits” – good habits. And, it is done gradually over that 28 – day period so that it becomes natural for us to pick up a piece of fruit instead a chocolate bar or a packet of crisps.
If you are someone like me who has tried EVERY SINGLE DIET under the sun, then you will know 100 percent that diets don’t work – what does work is – Changing the bad habits for good ones!
When is the best time to start?
Lockdown is probably the best time to start something like this as you are at home – can’t go out to eat – need to get out for a walk everyday – so what a fab time to start your Head Start to a Healthier Lifestyle Hypnotic Programme! It also includes the famous hypnotic gastric band therapy session too which makes you believe you have a much smaller stomach. Some of you may have even suffered with the COVID 19 virus over the past couple of months so, like me, you may have lost your sense of taste and smell!
When you can’t taste or smell anything you wonder if its worth eating! (I did lose weight initially, but it IS creeping back on!) Some people of course, do have other, more deep – rooted reason for becoming overweight and I also help them dig deep to find them and get rid of them once and for all.
More than 1 in 5 Children in the UK are overweight or obese when they start school and 1 in 3 children are obese by the time they leave primary school. These figures are horrendous.
The obesity epidemic is serious. I am only slightly overweight, but I have very high blood pressure, and I struggle to keep it down. People who are obese, morbidly obese or super morbidly obese are at risk of so many diseases and conditions such as:
- Heart Disease
- Peripheral vascular Disease
- Liver Problems
- Kidney problems
- Joint disorders
- Blindness (due to malnutrition)
The list goes on……but not only that, it causes mental disorders too! We become anti – social when we become obese because we don’t want to go out and risk being made fun of. We lose our self – esteem and self -confidence.
We become so embarrassed about our bodies that if affects our relationship with our partner! Our children don’t have the benefit of a mum or dad who can run around in the park with them or go on rides at the fair! There are so many different reasons aren’t there?

So… if you, or a member of your family is struggling, please think about doing something about their weight loss because if not looked at – it WILL more than likely lead to an illness (mental or physical) a serious condition and/or possibly death. If you have a child, please just spend a couple of days observing what they are eating, how they are eating, when they are eating, and how much they are eating and if you need help for either a child, teen or an adult – do seek it!
